General Announcements

  • Today please remember to be kind, respectful and inclusive to each other in our hallways, classrooms and community.
  • October is a big month, in this month we learn about Mikmaq History, Islamic History, Hispanic Heritage and Women’s History. Each day we will learn something new. I invite any students or staff to come see us with any ideas they may have on how we can celebrate and learn more.
  • During Women's History Month, Women and Gender Equality Canada (WAGE) proudly presents an inspiring roster of women who are making history, and whose contributions to advancing gender equality will leave an enduring mark for generations to come. Please check out the WAGE website to learn more about these amazing women!
  • If you have forgotten your LUNCH today please let us know in the office by 10am, come by and see Ms. Hernon or Ms. Sushmita or tell your teacher so they can let us know.
  • Healthy Hunger has a vendor on each day of the week again! Mondays and Fridays are The Lunch Lady with lots of great options.  DOMINOS Tuesday with pizza, pasta and chicken! Pita Pit Wednesdays and Kenny’s Pizza Thursdays! Place your orders a week in advance online!

Athletic Announcements

  • Female volleyball meeting at 11:50 in the band room - quick 5 minute meeting!
  • Male volleyball callbacks today after school until 4:30, make sure you have a way home.
  • Soccer finals on Monday at Harbour East All Weather Field - females play against Astral at 4 - please be there for 3:30. Males play against Caledonia at 5:15 please be there for 4:45. Go Eagles - bring home the Tier 1 Akerley Banner!
  • Ms. Coles and Mme Parsons want to send a huge congratulations to our Cross Country running team! Our runners did amazing and were very competitive in an event with about 1500 athletes. The following Eagles have moved onto the provincial meet held in Cape Breton on October 23. Lexie, Alice, Evan, Luke and Nik.
