General Announcements

  • Portia May White, contralto and teacher from Truro, was the first Black Canadian concert singer to win international acclaim. She was considered one of the best classical singers of the 20th century. She was named a “person of national historic significance” by the Government of Canada in 1995. The Portia White Prize is the largest prize of its type awarded by the Province of Nova Scotia and is named for her who rose through adversity to achieve international acclaim as a classical singer on the stages of Europe and North America.
  • Anyone who feels behind on their Book Creator project can see Mme Rodger today at lunch. If your name is on Mme Rodger’s door, please try to see her right at the first lunch bell today. Lastly, all of Mme Rodger’s students should bring coloured pencils to French class today please
